Supported Platforms and Minimum Versions
| Platform | Minimum Requirement | Architectures | Download Advice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows | 7 SP1+ | x86_64 / arm64 | Most users should download from the latest release. Windows 7 users should follow the compatibility instructions below. |
| macOS | 13.0+ | x86_64 / arm64 | Download from the latest release. |
| Linux | glibc 2.35+ | x86_64 / arm64 | You can use the latest release packages or install from AUR. |
AVX Requirement
Qt 6.6+ no longer supports CPUs without the AVX instruction set. If the app does not start, check both your OS version and CPU generation.
Where to Download for Windows 7
Windows 7 users should confirm the current compatible version from one of these official entry points:
- Open the GitHub repository README and look for a note like this:
> [!TIP]
> If you want to use Ghost-Downloader-3 on Windows 7, please download version `v3.8.0-Windows7`.- Open the Windows download section on the official website and check the currently listed Windows 7 compatible build.
Do Not Rely on latest release Alone
Windows 7 compatible packages do not necessarily track the latest release tag. Use the version explicitly listed in the README or on the website's Windows download section.
If you are on Windows 7, download the compatibility build explicitly listed by the README or website. If you are on Windows 10 or 11, use the regular Windows package from latest release.
Not Sure Which Package to Pick?
| Your System | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Windows 10 / 11 | Download the regular Windows package from the latest release. |
| Windows 7 | Check the current compatible version from the repository README or the website's Windows download section. |
| macOS | Download the package matching your chip architecture: arm64 or x86_64. |
| Linux | Prefer .deb on Debian / Ubuntu, .AppImage on other distributions, or AUR on Arch-based systems. |
