How to download
Two ways:
- Hover over the video on the video page and click the download button that appears
- Paste the video page link directly into GD
Quality selection
Quality is selected in the confirmation window (draft mode). If the confirmation window does not appear when downloading, first enable Settings → Browser Extension → Enter draft mode when taking over downloads.
The quality dropdown lists available resolutions. GD automatically matches the optimal format at or below the selected resolution.
Settings → YouTube Download → Prefer MP4 format (enabled by default): selects H.264/MP4 output. Disabling it allows VP9/AV1, which have higher bitrate at the same resolution but slightly worse compatibility.
Subtitles
In the confirmation window, click the subtitle button and select the desired language. Subtitles marked "auto" are auto-generated by the platform.
Subtitles are downloaded as .vtt files and saved in the same directory as the video.
Playlist
After pasting a playlist link, a "Select videos" button appears in the confirmation window. Click it to list all videos and check the ones to download.
Supports select all and invert selection. After downloading starts, you can still add or remove videos via Right-click task → File selection.
Resuming after a long pause may require re-fetching download information (links have a validity period).
