Download Categories
Automatically categorize downloads by file type and assign different storage directories.
Enable
Settings → Download Categories → toggle on.
Category Rules
Each category includes a name, an icon (25 options), an extension list (e.g., mp4, mkv, avi), and an optional dedicated download directory.
The directory supports the {default} placeholder: enter {default}/Videos → the actual path is the Videos folder in the default download directory.
Automatic Categorization
When a new Task is created, Ghost Downloader automatically matches a Category based on the file extension. Matching proceeds top to bottom through the rule list; the first hit applies.
Manual Operations
- Category dropdown in the Task list toolbar: filter by Category
- Right-click menu → Move to Category: batch re-categorize existing Tasks
- In the Draft confirmation dialog, each Task card can select a Category individually
- In the file selection dialog, files can be filtered by Category type
